We have a job opening and exciting opportunity for a full-time Supplier Relations Manager - Government in Tiffin, OH or Andersonville, TN or Earth City, MO. Responsible for the marketing strategy of branded suppliers in government markets. The Supplier Relations Manager - Government will collaborate closely with the company's government sales team and supplier partners' sales teams in order to execute sales growth and operational efficiency strategies in support of the company's short and long-term objectives. An essential function of this role is to drive alignment and engagement among several internal and external stakeholder groups. Responsible for accelerating the growth of company's government presence, with emphasis on company contracts, partnerships, and preferred supplier partners. Partner closely with sales and supplier representatives to drive collaboration amongst all stakeholders who influence preferred supplier and partner sales success. The Supplier Relations Manager - Government will be part of the Supplier Relations team with an accountability for maximizing the value of preferred suppliers in the government marketspace, along with company Federal, state, and local contracts and programs. The role will be responsible for the execution of a strategic growth plan for government preferred suppliers. Execution and results of plan to be measured by growth in revenue and profitability captured by government sales and the impact of negotiated agreements, incentive programs, sales and customer-facing marketing programs, and partnership agreements. The Supplier Relations Manager - Government will also manage the channel optimization strategy of government suppliers, relating directly to issue resolution, business continuity, and development and deliverance of operational efficiency programs. Also responsible for providing information to Supplier Relations and Sales Leadership regarding supplier metrics/analytics, competitive activity, emerging trends in the industry and best practices.


Essential Functions:

  • Accountable for leading and growing company's government supplier relationships with preferred supplier partners and branded suppliers.
  • Partner with suppliers to uncover areas of opportunity to drive government business through the distribution channel. Offer consultancy to suppliers on how to best leverage government contracts and capabilities.
  • Position preferred and other branded suppliers for government opportunities encompassing Federal, State, and Local government markets.
  • Maintain oversight of government channel management strategy and channel performance.
  • Negotiate, analyze, and assist in the tracking of agreements to ensure incentives are achievable and meaningful.
  • Lead projects and influence/support sales team members to achieve annual sales and profitability goals within government markets.
  • Lead the development of innovative solutions with company's preferred suppliers, along with sales, service and operations.
  • Leverage analytical resources to identify sales variances and trends to drive engagement and growth with preferred suppliers.
  • Assist in identifying and strengthening socio-economic small business partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and rapport with government agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You will Need to be Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA with a concentration in Marketing, Finance, Business Administration, Supply Chain or related discipline is preferred.
  • At least 5 - 7 years of experience in a similar strategic sourcing, category management and/or channel management role in the healthcare industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and grow supplier relationships.
  • Demonstrates an ability to lead within a matrixed organization.
  • General financial analysis skills and experience with a proven ability to understand business opportunities and risks and turn those insights into forecasts and actions.
  • General knowledge of the sales process and an ability to collaborate, and influence a sales team.
  • Highly collaborative; must be able to work with appropriate experts to solve problems and achieve results. Makes decisions and takes action to solve problems for impacted teams.
  • Ability to independently lead, consult, negotiate, and communicate at all levels of organization to influence and drive results.
  • Ability to collaboratively develop and engage others in a commitment to achieve the company's strategy and objectives.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to company's vision, mission, values and strategic initiatives.
  • Working knowledge on contract construction and the ability to review, red line and draft language for discussion.
  • Understanding of project management and experience using project management tools.
  • Willing to travel up to 10%.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug screening.
