Midnight Oil (moagency.com), strategically located in "the heart of Hollywood" in Burbank, CA, is an extraordinary creative, and specialty print production partner to the majority of theatrical and streaming studios, with relationships often measured in terms of decades, not years. We uniquely and conveniently combine our Studio and Print Production capabilities all under one roof in our 120,000 square feet facility, with an Amtrak stop and the Burbank Airport directly across the street. Position Summary: The Finishing/Color Lead is responsible for the service, color integrity and asset management of client campaigns. Each Finishing/Color Lead is attached to a specific account director and client to maintain an in-depth knowledge of that client's needs and preferences to best service their campaign goals.

Work Location: Onsite at our Burbank, CA office.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm

Pay Rate: $37-$47/hourly

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with Account Director(s) to support their client's finishing and color needs.
  • Understand and convey campaign-specific color objectives as well as on-going client preferences to enhance and improve campaign deliverables.
  • Manage day-to-day client color needs and all color components/assets within campaigns.
  • Communicate relevant color/finishing project information to all necessary departments (Prepress, Premedia, Creative etc.) and/or account team as it affects campaign, deliverable, quality, performance, relationships, budget, etc.
  • Manage applicable job schedules and deadlines within the department and coordinate with others to ensure stability, efficiency and proper utilization of the department resources.
  • Review all pertinent files and outputs to determine best course of action and whether files/proofs are client-ready.
  • Collaborate as appropriate with Creative and Art Directors to achieve desired look/vision for the campaign.
  • Assess, refine and develop workflows, including keyart tracking and utilization. Direct preflight as needed. Maintain asset management, both physical and digital.
  • Execute jobs in support of departmental and company aims. Perform duties as identified and assigned.
  • Follow Company and Client security policy and asset management protocols. Keep department apprised of changes in security status of campaign and individual looks.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years professional experience with finishing and color.
  • Agency and/or robust Entertainment (theatrical, streaming, home entertainment, etc.) industry experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with emphasis on active listening and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with and inspire confidence in the client, account directors and other key players.
  • Knowledge base of the client's preferences and marketing objectives.
  • Wide array of color and finishing skills as well as technical expertise.
  • Excellent project coordination skills and attention to detail.
  • Robust industry understanding (theatrical, retail, gaming, home entertainment.)
  • Proactive mindset to identifying and solving problems.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic collaborative environment.
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency in any language (including ASL) preferred

The national pay range for this role is $37-$47/hourly. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission, or incentive program.
