Job Summary:
Directs a comprehensive product strategy from product conception and definition through end of life.Drives the creation, development and delivery of new software products within company product lines. Performsongoing market research,reviewscustomer satisfaction,workswithdevelopment teams and measuresproduct success.Formulates and executes long-term plans for cost/profit control.Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for planning and execution of product lines throughout their lifecycle including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining product vision and working closely with management, development teams, engineering, sales, marketing, and other support groups to ensure revenue, profit and customer expectations goals are met.
Work closely with upper management to develop long-term product development and sales strategies for the company.
Understand, articulate, and capture customer market problems and then translate them into software and hardware requirements for product development teams.
Providesales and business development teams with marketing strategy and guidanceforselling,promoting products, andmeetingcustomer needs.
Work with a team of support and sales personnel to meet customer and contractual requirements.
Monitor and analyze market trends and competitors to make sure product lines stay competitive and fulfill customer needs.
Understand all aspects ofcustomer'sbusiness needs and how they can apply to ourcompany's productlines.
Contributor in coordinating quote and proposal activities through business development and contracts to meet customer needs.
Generate business cases for product extensions and product enhancementsto meet market demandsand new sales potentials.
Develops investment plans for each product so that products will be up to date and meet all market-driven and customer requirements.
Works with third parties to develop business strategies as well as teaming and license agreements.
Works closely withbusiness development, corporate communications and local marketingteam to insure advertising materialsarecurrent and available.
Ensure all customer requirements and expectations are met by providing superior customer support and service.
Works to make sure all contractual requirements are satisfied including products, data and services.
Serves as an expert with respect to the customer and competitive environment.
Responsible for developing consumer and channel communication strategies.
Hybrid with 3 days weekly in-office. #LI-hybrid
Travel up to 25%.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Must be a United States citizen. Four-year college degree, or equivalent, inproductline,businessorprogramleadershipfields;plus a minimum of eight years experience working as a product/consumermanager in a softwareenvironment, and/or the combined equivalent in Defense product management experience and education.Active Secret Security Clearance is preferred. Must have experiencein launching new products into theconsumermarketand evolving these into viable company revenue streams. Excellent teamwork skills.Demonstrated experience in creating product specifications, gathering customer requirements, performing competitive analysis and/or market research.Background working in the military exercise operations, acquisitionsand business development arenaispreferred. Able to make decisions independentlyand coordinate large teams. Excellentpresentation,written and verbal communication skills.
