FMI Aerostructures is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team in the aerostructures industry. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing manufacturing processes for the machining of aluminum and titanium structures. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in aerospace manufacturing, with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a similar role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* This position will be responsible for managing and leading continuous improvement projects and be a "leader of change"

* Will be responsible for driving a culture of sustainable continuous improvement, operational excellence and delivering on business goals and objectives

* Manage a portfolio of lean projects directed at reducing waste and improving quality to provide greater value

* Train and lead cross-functional continuous improvement teams; focusing on measurable quality, service and cost improvement

* Design and build robust scalable processes

* Champion change and drive results through a collaborative, engaging and hands-on approach

* Train, coach and motivate personnel in the understanding and adoption of new principles and techniques

Drive the standardization of processes and the implementation of metrics and best practices

Requirements:

Educational Qualification:

* Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (preferred)

* Experience introducing continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment

* Strong written and presentation skills

* Superior problem solving and analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative)

* Experience in change management

* A great facilitator, able to speak to both the shop floor and senior leaders

* Experience in supplier management


Physical Demands

* Ability stand, walk and/or sit for long periods of time

* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.


Work Environment:

* Must be able to work in a manufacturing/production shop environment as job duties require.

* May be exposed to loud operating machinery and hot/cold temperatures.

* Use proper PPE as required per company policy
