  • The Parker Meggitt Simi Valley Fire, Safety, and Power Division site is a fully integrated location with product responsibility from Marketing and Engineering through Supplier Management, Program Management, and Manufacturing, ending with delivery to customers.

  • Parker Meggitt - Simi Valley, CA, is also a key supplier in selecting energy markets, including nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. JOB DESIGNATION

  • The Supplier Quality Engineering Manager provides general supervision and technical guidance to the Supplier Quality Assurance team within a business unit.
  • Ensures all supplier products and services meet both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations.
  • Plans and directs supplier quality assurance activities and implements supplier quality control policies.
  • Collaborates with the Procurement organization to ensure procured parts are delivered in conformance with all contractually flowed-down requirements in accordance with the acknowledged delivery schedule.
  • This position is responsible for ensuring that all site suppliers have deployed the necessary quality systems to be compliant with Meggitt, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • This position also leads preventive and corrective actions associated with supplier parts and performance.

JOB CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads supplier development strategy by designing control plans and metrics for supplier performance.
  • Monitors supplier processes and products to ensure compliant products based on the defined metrics and ensure green supplier scorecards.
  • Oversees supplier qualification and validation audits. Co-ordinates on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis, verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues, and the implementation of control plans flowed to suppliers.
  • Ensures Meggitt requirements are effectively flowed down to suppliers.
  • Acts as a liaison between engineering and suppliers to promote design for manufacturability when buying parts.
  • Evaluated workload requirements and delegated assignments to supplier quality engineers and inspectors to ensure procured parts and services comply with requirements.
  • Works with purchasing function to establish and communicate quality requirements to external suppliers and ensure timely delivery of compliant parts to production.
  • Ensures that supplier manufacturing or production systems and processes satisfy Meggit's and Meggitt's customer's requirements as applicable.
  • Collaborates with suppliers in problem-solving and suggests methods for improving product quality, design, and/or manufacturing processes based on lean Six Sigma practices.
  • Ensures supplied part failure analyses and corrective and preventative actions are accomplished efficiently and effectively.
  • Manages and leads the SQEs and receiving inspection team regarding recruitment, training, development, appraisal, attendance, and daily supervision to optimize productivity.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree is REQUIRED
  • Years of experience: Min. 7 years of relevant experience
  • Required Skills:
    • Strong ability to lead, plan, and direct the Supplier Quality Engineering and Inspection teams.
    • Demonstrated quality assurance expertise and ability to improve products or services by applying professional and technical knowledge.
    • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize in changing situations.
    • Solid analytical skills and judgment to proactively identify and solve increasingly complex problems.
    • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management tools
    • Familiar with technical procedures, standards, and engineering-related documents.
    • Strong background in Six Sigma tools and methodologies (i.e., lean, Kaizen, Design of Experiments (DOE), Measurement System Analysis(MSA), Failure Mode Effects Analysis(FMEA), Statistical Process Control(SPC), etc.).
    • Project management experience, experience with AS9100 and AS9102.

WORK AUTHORIZATION: This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. * 120.15 is required. U.S. Citizenship/Permanent residency is required for most positions.

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, including candidate experience, qualifications, location, and market and business considerations. Pay Range: $105K-$183K plus 10% STIP target (Target budget: $140K-$160K)
