A manufacturer near Ventura is looking for a Controller to add to their team. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will be responsible for cost accounting, data management, and consolidation. To be successful in this role, the Controller should be data savvy, professional, and have a great personality. Does this sound like you? What do you need for this Controller role?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 15+ years of accounting management experience
  • MUST have cost accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel
  • CPA is a plus
  • Private equity company experience is another plus
What will you do in this Controller role?
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard cost systems for all products and services
  • Monitor and analyze cost variances, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of cost accounting data, including bill of materials, routing, and overhead rates
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Analyze financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reports and analysis to senior management and stakeholders
  • Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques to manipulate and interpret large datasets
  • Extract, transform, and load financial data from various sources for reporting and analysis purposes
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal control policies
  • Conduct periodic audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of financial controls
  • Implement improvement to internal control procedures to mitigate risks and strengthen governance

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
