Job Description

Job Summary: The Project Manager-Quality and Patient Safety is responsible for delivering service excellence in all managed projects through optimization of people, processes, and technology. Responsible for data gathering, root cause analysis and performance trending in order to develop appropriate process control changes. Responsible for the managing coordination of initiatives, including development of project timelines, implementation of project in alignment with project times, and evaluation of effectiveness of project. Manages the overall project plan and ensures that the project meets or exceeds projected timeline, budget, and outcome expectations. Ensures communication with key stakeholders regarding resource needs, including any necessary third-party relationships. Utilizes leadership skills, sound judgment, and discretion to positively impact project teams and project success. Communicates in various forums and formats, including management presentations and written/verbal report submissions as required. The Project Manager-Quality and Patient Safety is responsible for leading projects and supporting project teams through effective facilitation but is not responsible for administering discipline to employees. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred. Minimum three years of direct experience in process improvement or project management capacity, including all aspects of project delivery required. Minimum three years of work experience in a healthcare related field, including basic level of knowledge and understanding of clinical process and workflow preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and documentation skills, and ability to plan and organize technical and analytical work. Able to use project planning software, spreadsheets, and word processing software; input data, typing, copying, and effective use of the telephone. Excellent verbal and writing skills; Able to communicate effectively and clearly in English, in writing and verbally. Ability to deal effectively with people and elicit support from other areas and vendors. Strong customer service skills. Excellent planning, problem solving, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to analyze and interpret data, analyze and interpret processes and needs based on limited information; organize work and resources; define problems and solutions; make recommendations. Able to manage time effectively and plan and implement objectives. Ability to work calmly, efficiently, and respond courteously under pressure. Knowledge of project management tools for task tracking and team collaboration efforts. Knowledge of healthcare software or systems required. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; write, hear, read and speak sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with workplace; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to the position.

Licensures and Certifications: Valid Driver's License required at time of hire. Certification in Project Management from Project Management Institute (PMP or CAPM) preferred, International Institute for Learning (APMC), or American Academy of Project Management preferred. Lean/Six Sigma Certificate preferred.
