The Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for leading the development of reporting and analytics solutions for UCLA's electronic health record (EHR) system by gathering business needs, documenting requirements, identifying appropriate data sources, developing reports, and delivering them to stakeholders. The Clinical Informatics Specialist takes direction from, and collaborates with, the Manager, Business Intelligence Operations and the Director, Enterprise Analytics on work priorities and manages the resolution of escalated issues. They will perform in depth and precise investigation and documentation of future-state reporting specifications and application reporting functionality. The Clinical Informatics Specialist must achieve in-depth knowledge of relevant software applications as well as understand policies, procedures and constraints. This is a flex-hybrid role which will require you to be onsite at least 5% of the time or as required by operational need. Please note that there are no reimbursements for travel to "home office" location. Each employee must complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager which will outline arrangement parameters and aids both parties in fully understanding expectations. Arrangements are regularly evaluated, and are subject to termination. Salary offers are determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, and equity. The full salary range for this position is $95,900 - $222,100 annually. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is approximately between the minimum and midpoint. This is a one year contract. Contracts may convert to career.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE * Epic Clarity Data Model certification in one or more modules (EpicCare Inpatient, Hospital Billing, Prelude ADT, Radiant, Willow, Optime) * 5+ years of experience in a healthcare related organization * 5+ years demonstrated expertise in MS SQL Server or Oracle * Strong SQL Programming Skills (MS SQL Server/Oracle platforms) * Knowledge of data warehouse concepts, data structures and reporting * Extensive knowledge of SAP Business Objects architecture, functions, features, and capabilities * Extensive knowledge of best practices regarding reporting, workflows, policies, procedures, systems and culture in the healthcare environment * Strong analytical, problem-solving and metadata skills * Ability to translate business questions and requirements into reports, views, and BI query objects * Experience in gathering, documenting, prioritizing and tracking requirements * Strong organizational skills and customer service orientation * Must recognize and evaluate problems, and refer to the appropriate channels for action * High functioning team skills, including active listening and rapport building * Effective written & verbal communication * Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels to understand requirements * Ability to identify, document, resolve and/or escalate issues and maintain a complete issues log * Ability to accurately and precisely estimate development time * Ability to manage multiple and competing tasks while maintain timelines * Ability to work independently with general direction * Ability to work effectively as a team player with people of all backgrounds and at all levels * * Ability to establish and maintain a spirit of cooperation and respect, flourish in an unstructured environment, and always engage in professional and ethical conduct * * General (Soft Skills) * Customer focus * Outcomes/Results-oriented * Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence * Team player * Adaptable/Ability to shift focus * Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities * Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication and presentation skills * Demonstrated conflict resolution skills * Self-directed * Preferred * * Experience in Quality Measures Reporting * Epic build experience in a live environment strongly * Epic implementation experience specific to clinical workflows and order management
