The Dine Brands Global Communications Team's purpose is to inspire trust, engagement and advocacy for the enterprise, our brands, and team members through clear, creative, and purposeful communications that advances the enterprise's mission, values, and strategic business goals.

We are seeking an agile and collaborative team player to support strategy and execution of internal and external communications that informs, engages, and inspires our team members, franchisees, and other stakeholders. This multifaceted storyteller will proactively manage day-to-day communication needs for assigned business units, including but not limited to the offices of the Chief Information Officer, IT Team, Cybersecurity, HR & People Team, and assist with external communications, media relations and other duties as needed for the success of the team and enterprise.

The selected individual will be expected to manage several complex projects at once and must be able to properly prioritize tasks/assignments in a fast-paced environment to ensure that all job duties are completed as scheduled and on-budget. The Manager, Communications must be able to work independently and possess the ability to interact, coordinate with, and influence cross-functional team members and leaders at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage executive and other communications for assigned business units - developing communication strategies, messages, talking points, newsletter features, presentations, scripts and other materials to support the success of the leader and team.
  • Act as the ultimate dot connector, keeping a pulse on what's happening in and outside the business to identify opportunities to improve processes and communications to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee creative asset development, including graphics and videos, and provide communications support for projects and events, such as brand conferences, Town Halls, and other engagements for assigned business units.
  • Work closely with internal partners such as Brand Communication Teams, International Leadership Team, Legal, Cybersecurity, HR, Total Rewards, Benefits, and IT to create and distribute communications that clearly communicates the intended message and increases engagement and understanding of business objectives.
  • Serve as the lead and point person for the development and dissemination of content through digital channels, including the Dine RSC App, Information Screens, Dinebrands.com, and intranet, creating a holistic communication approach.
  • Develop relationships with media outlets and event organizers to proactively seek out thought leadership opportunities for leaders and provide support to assigned leaders at speaking engagements and other external engagement opportunities, including the development of prep material, scripts, and other materials as needed.
  • Manage and serve as Editor for The Dine Feed, Dine's internal Team Member communication/sharing platform.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in communications roles - agency and restaurant experience a plus
  • Willingness to work after-hours/weekends on system outage and crisis communications as needed
  • Willingness to travel as needed for internal and external conferences and other events
  • Skilled writer and communicator able to simplify complex ideas into clear and relevant communication assets for various platforms - graphic design or video production experience a plus
  • Roll up your sleeves mentality with a willingness to take a great idea and execute from start to finish
  • Ability to be a collaborative and energized partner to cross-functional teams
  • Experience managing multiple projects, ensuring clear communications with all stakeholders.
  • An empathic and curious storyteller inspired to build a sense of community by identifying and sharing relatable Team Members stories and successes.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Experience with design tools, such as Adobe Suite or Canva, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required with a field of study in: Journalism, English, Communications, Design preferred; advanced degree desirable
  • Target Base Salary 110k+
