To assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the back-counter parts area. Issue parts to the service shop. Order parts for the shop. Review work orders to ensure all parts are on correct jobs with correct quantities and pricing. Assist with warehouse duties including. pulling parts, checking stock orders, cleaning warehouse. Assist with parts deliveries and pick-ups. Entering parts onto work orders. Assist loading and unloading trucks. Other duties as assigned by manager. Perform a variety of semi skilled and skilled manual duties requiring knowledge of techniques, tools, equipment and safety precautions. To adhere to a general safety and work plan. Perform work at quality level consistent with Wabash National standard practice and complete work in a specified allotted time. Must maintain high standard of housekeeping in the shop and yard. Maintain compliance with safety requirements and OSHA regulations. Must be able to complete and pass any training as required for job.
Secondly, to learn the skills necessary to grow into an inside sales position over time. Once versed in the smooth operation of the back-counter parts area this individual will learn the quoting process for Wabash parts and eventually, how to quote service work for outside customers. This will require the individual to perform a variety of skilled inside sales duties requiring knowledge of techniques, products, and customer interactions. Must exhibit a professional demeanor with customers at all times.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or G.E.D. Experience with trailer parts is desirable for identifying necessary parts. Understanding of inventory control procedures, including how they relate to company profitability. Must have both written and verbal communication skills. Must have ability to read, listen to instruction and comprehend what is written or said. Communicate with vendors, shop personnel, and customers on a daily basis.
