General Information

The George L. Argyros College of Business and Economics at Chapman University invites applications for a non-tenure track Clinical Associate or Assistant Professor of Finance beginning August 1, 2024. The position is open at the non-tenure track clinical assistant or associate professor level. Applicants with experience in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply: corporate finance, financial management, international finance, mergers and acquisitions, and investments. This position will also lead the Argyros College's experiential learning opportunities in finance such as student competitions and the "Walk Down Wall Street" course which provides students with an opportunity to visit financial firms in New York.

Qualifications

* Doctoral Degree in finance or a related field.

* CFA strongly preferred.

* Outstanding record of professional achievement.

* At least 3-5 years of teaching experience preferred; evidence of teaching excellence.

* Potential for publishing high-quality academic research.

Responsibilities

* Teach eight undergraduate and/or graduate courses (24 credits total) annually (August - May) in their area of expertise.

* Develop and lead the Argyros College's "Walk Down Wall Street" program.

* Provide oversight for student clubs such as the Chapman University Investment Group.

* Actively contribute as an integral member of the Argyros College faculty by engaging in department and university service as expected of a non-tenure track faculty member.

* Plan, develop, and deliver high-quality courses.

* Offer regular office hours to provide students with opportunities for one-on-one consultations, academic advising, and clarification of course materials.

* Participate in advising for students, helping them select appropriate courses, develop academic plans, and identify internship and career opportunities.

* Contribute to the overall mission of the institution by attending program meetings and supporting campus-wide initiatives and events.

* Serve on academic committees or task forces within the institution, contributing to discussions and decisions related to academic policies, curriculum development, and other relevant matters.
