The Director of Strategic Finance operates at a critical intersection in the business, helping to connect our strategy, commercial operations, and financials with our planning processes, and enforcing accountability to those plans. You will be responsible for building detailed bottoms-up financial models, managing the long-range plan of the organization, conducting ad-hoc competitive research and business case modeling to help support and financial objectives.

Candidates local to the Southern California area are preferred but remote candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide management a clear picture and direction of future performance by transforming the overarching company strategy into a Long-Range Plan (LRP), tied into the annual operating plan and cash flows budgets
  • Provide analysis of Dermatology competitive landscape and industry market conditions, and maintain overall 'competitive market finance' awareness as part of participating in Board of Director Meetings presentations
  • Leverage financial modeling to forecast operating and profitability performance and set annual targets for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Support Commercial, PMC and Geographical Expansion by developing NPV and assumption-based scenario and sensitivity planning and analysis, and by forecasting possible outcomes and creating key metrics for monitoring
  • Understand the financial and operational drivers of our business at a granular level and provide critical support spanning all areas of the business by taking on a wide range of strategic analytical projects
  • Own the development of financial forecasting and KPI dashboards. Analyze and determine objectives metrics, NPV, ROI and payback period for commercial marketing investments (i.e. Consumer Brand) and create Pipeline NPV models
  • Support FP&A with the annual plan budgets/forecasts, cash flow forecasts, slides and storyline development used for Management and BOD approvals
  • Collaborate closely between Finance, Sales and Operations to help design an efficient, effective, and predictable business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, economics, or similar; advanced degree preferred
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in strategic analytics and FP&A areas
  • Previous commercial operations modeling experience and understanding of critical components preferred and high level of proficiency with scenario modeling, data manipulation (data structuring, wrangling) and analysis with the ability to cross-support other strategic functional areas in the company
  • Track record of advising senior leaders on wide range of business issues
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to filter through ambiguity but able to also execute on the details, while working well under pressure and acting in the utmost confidentiality with sensitive information

Compensation And Benefits

  • $190k-$210k Annual Salary
