About the Position:

Epic Staffing Group is looking for a Provider Credentialing Specialist who will be responsible for all aspects of initial credentialing, recredentialing, and if applicable privileging of providers. Additionally, the position is responsible for managing the process of provider licensing and enrollment to ensure the Strategic Business Unit's (SBU) healthcare providers are properly qualified and enrolled with insurance networks.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage all aspects of the provider enrollment and credentialing process, including initial applications, re-credentialing, and maintaining provider information in all necessary systems including provider state licenses, DEA certificates, board certifications, malpractice insurance and any other expirable documents; prepare provider enrollment applications for payers.

  • Maintain the provider privileging process for providers within the organization, including knowledge of current health plans, agencies, and industry requirements for credentialing providers; coordinate submissions with Health Plans, management services organizations (MSO), or other agencies; facilitate site credentialing with health plans or other entities.

  • Work with provider to ensure timely renewal of provider licenses and certifications; communicate appointment, reappointment, clinical privileging decisions and changes to providers and internal/external parties, as required; assist providers with setting up appointments (e.g., physicals, drug screens, PPDs, Chest X-rays, titers, vaccinations, fit tests, color tests, etc.).

  • Review initial and reappointment credentialing applications and conduct follow-up, as needed; assist with preparation of credentialing packets.

  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications between multiple parties while meeting policy timelines and updating the credentialing database; provide status reports and communicate provider participation information to internal and external clients.

  • Provide written and verbal communication with federal, state, and local agencies, hospitals, medical review boards, educator review boards, and malpractice carriers to obtain provider and practitioner information.

  • Participate in preparation for Internal and external audits conducted for current and accurate provider information or delegation compliance; audit files based on internal standards and regulatory / accreditation requirements (e.g., CMS, DSHS, NCQA & JCAHO, DNV), if applicable.

  • Stay up to date with changes in regulations and standards from organizations such as the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), The Joint Commission (TJC), and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

  • Maintain positive relationships, written and verbal communication, and high levels of both internal and external customer service with providers, vendors, employees, and other parties related to company's credentialing efforts.

  • Maintain documentation of credentialing activities; work collaboratively with other departments to resolve credentialing and enrollment issues.

Who You Are:

  • You are detail oriented and have the ability to complete assignments with a high degree of accuracy and in a timely and efficient manner.

  • You are flexible and adaptive to changing priorities and service needs.

  • With exceptional verbal and written communication skills, you have the ability to exchange non-routine information using tact and persuasion.

  • You have working knowledge of TJC, Federal and State Healthcare and Education regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA.

What You've Done:

  • Graduation from high school or educational equivalent

  • Two years of experience in education or healthcare staffing credentialing, including experience with Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH).

  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) can substitute for one year of experience.

Salary: $25 - $27/hour
