Financial Analyst

Location: Hybrid, 2 days in office and 3 days remotely

Duration: 16 week project with possibility of extension and/or permanent conversion

Job Description:

Perform pre and post-award and other financial management and analysis for the Clinical AIDS Research and Education (CARE) Center in the Department of Medicine at UCLA.

Effectively and accurately manage multiple complex accounts from Federal, County, State and private agencies, as well as gift and Policy 913 accounts. Prepare MTFs and other financial transactions as needed. Monitor foundation and endowment accounts. Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience, 1-2 years in the following:

Skill in developing budgets based on reviewing reports, past budgets, discussions with investigators and other research

Skill in performing basic bookkeeping transactions such as debiting, crediting, reconciling expenses, preparing transfer of funds, transfer of payroll and non-payroll expenses.

Analytical skills to assess financial information, practices and procedures, define problems, formulate logical solutions, develop alternative solutions and to make recommendations.

Preferred Experience:

Knowledge of the University s grants and contract policies and procedures

Experience working in an academic medical center setting managing complex funds and interactions with faculty

Demonstrated experience in interpretation and hands-on application of accounting, budgetary, and auditing principles and practices in a University or non-profit environment
